Elisaveta Sharakhovskaya is a very warm-hearted cellist.

She appears to be one single entity with her cello which “speaks and sings” with a profound, warm voice as well as a sensitive and delicate sound.

Her playing is characterized by sincerity and soulfulness.

BIO

Elisaveta Sharakhovskaya is a cellist, chamber-music player and teacher.
She has been repeatedly nominated for the «Presidential Fellowship of the Republic of Belarus to support talented Youth».

She was born in Minsk and at the age of five she started her musical education at the Music Lyceum for talented children of the Belarussian Conservatory with Ludmila Zlotnikova and afterwards with Irina Scepanova.

In 2000 Elisaveta began her cello studies at the Minsk State Academy and continued in Vienna with Lilia Schulz-Bayrova, Wolfgang Herzer (solo cellist of the Wiener Philharmoniker) and Walter Schulz (solo cellist of Wiener Symphoniker). She successfully graduated, with honours, with a Masters of Art and a Masters of Art Education.

Elisaveta Sharakhovskaya was a second prize winner of the Austrian «Gradus ad Parnassum» String Quartet Competition in Vienna, a three time prize recipient of the «Fidelio Competition” (including a first prize as a soloist and the Special Prize of the Suzuki-Stiftung), as well as third prize and a «Special Prize for the best interpretations of L. van Beethoven Works» in the 40th Beethoven International Cello Competition in the Czech Republic, the third prize and a «Special Prize for being the youngest competitor” in the 7th International Michail Oginsky Chamber Music Competition in Smorgon, Belarus and she was nominated for the «V. V. Olovnikov Fellowship» in Belarus.

As a soloist, chamber musician, and orchestra member, Elisaveta has already performed in many of Europe’s most prestigious concert halls such as: the Musikverein and Konzerthaus in Vienna, Salle Gaveau in Paris, the State Philharmonie in Minsk, the Greek National Opera Liriki Skini in Athens and in many other prestigious concert halls in several countries in Europe, Asia and Latin America.

She is a member of the “Atlas Quarett” and the “Aeras Ensemble Vienna”.

She has taken part in prestigious festivals like the «Impuls Festival for Conterporary Music 2010» organized by Klangforum Vienna, the Zermatt Festival under the patronage of Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra in Switzerland, the 8th Beijing Music Festival in China, the «Mozartjahr 2006» with the Atlas Quartett in Vienna, the «Tiroler Festspiele Erl 2014» and the Music Festival in Trenta under the patronage of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra (sponsored by Bank Austria).

She has worked and collaborated as a cellist with Erwin Schrott, Jose Carreras, Albrecht Mayer, Alexey Igudesman, and Gustavo Dudamel. She has been deeply influenced and inspired by musicians like: Steven Isserlis, Eberhard Finke (Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra), Christoph Stradner (Vienna Symphonic Orchestra), Jerome Ducros, Alain Meunier, Huguette Dreyfuss, Kopelmann-Quartett, Daniel Barenboim, Riccardo Muti, Bobby McFerrin.

Elisaveta organizes her own concerts, cultural and educational projects. One of which, «Saiten in der Praxis 2014», has succesfully taken place in 2014 in Belarus.

Elisaveta Sharakhovskaya has, for many years, been involved in the development of new cello strings together with Thomastik-Infeld Vienna and plays her own unique combination of exclusive handmade strings.
